The role of reactor

Column:Technical Support Time:2020-05-22

The reactor used in the power grid is essentially an air-core coil with no magnetic material. It can be arranged in three assembly forms: vertical, horizontal and pin-shaped. When a short circuit occurs in the power system, a large short-circuit current will be generated. If it is not restricted, it is very difficult to maintain the dynamic and thermal stability of electrical equipment. Therefore, in order to meet the interrupting capacity requirements of some circuit breakers, reactors are often connected in series at the outlet circuit breaker to increase the short-circuit impedance and limit the short-circuit current.

Due to the use of reactors, when a short circuit occurs, the voltage drop on the reactor is large, so it also plays a role in maintaining the voltage level of the bus, so that the voltage fluctuation of the bus is small, and the user's electrical equipment on the non-faulty line is guaranteed.

The stability of standby operation.

In recent years, in power systems, in order to eliminate capacitor failures caused by high-order harmonic voltages and currents, series reactors are used in the capacitor loop to change system parameters, which has achieved remarkable results.

The smoothing reactor is an important component in the rectifier circuit, and the main function in the intermediate frequency power supply is:

1. Limit the short-circuit current. (When the inverter thyristor is switched on at the same time, it is equivalent to a direct short-circuit of the rectifier bridge load) without a reactor.

2. Suppress the influence of intermediate frequency components on the power frequency grid.

3. Filtering (the rectified current has AC components; high-frequency AC cannot pass through the large inductance) to make the rectified output waveform continuous. If it is not continuous, there will be a time for the current to be zero, then the inverter bridge stops working, causing the rectifier bridge The phenomenon of open circuits.

4. The input power of the parallel inverter circuit has the throughput of reactive components, and the input circuit of the inverter bridge must have an energy storage component --- reactor.

What is the function of adding output reactor to the inverter?

The purpose of adding an output reactor at the output of the inverter is to increase the wire distance between the inverter and the motor. The output reactor can effectively suppress the instantaneous high voltage generated when the IGBT of the inverter is switched on and off, and reduce the adverse effects of this voltage on the cable insulation and the motor . At the same time, in order to increase the distance between the inverter and the motor, the cable can be thickened appropriately to increase the insulation strength of the cable, and try to use unshielded cables.
