IP protection level

Column:Technical Support Time:2020-05-22

The IP protection level is composed of two numbers. The first marking number indicates the level of protection against dust and foreign objects. The second marking number indicates the degree of airtightness of the appliance against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the protection The higher the level. (The foreign objects referred to here include tools, human fingers, etc., should not touch the live parts of the appliance to avoid electric shock)

Dust-proof, prevent foreign objects intrusion level (first marked number)

Number Protection Range Description

0 No protection No special protection for people or things outside

1 Prevent the intrusion of solid foreign objects larger than 50mm. Prevent the human body (such as the palm) from accidentally contacting the internal parts of the appliance, and prevent the larger size (diameter greater than 50mm) from intruding

2 Prevent the intrusion of solid foreign objects larger than 12.5mm. Prevent human fingers from touching the internal parts of the appliance, and prevent foreign objects of medium size (diameter greater than 12.5mm) from intruding

3 Prevent the intrusion of solid foreign objects greater than 2.5mm Prevent the intrusion of tools, wires and similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 2.5mm and contact the internal parts of the appliance

4 Prevent the intrusion of solid foreign objects greater than 1.0mm. Prevent tools, wires and similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness greater than 1.0mm from intruding and contacting the internal parts of the appliance

5 Prevent foreign objects and dust completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects. Although the intrusion of dust cannot be completely prevented, the amount of dust invaded will not affect the normal operation of the appliance

6 Prevent foreign objects and dust completely prevent foreign objects and dust from intruding

The degree of airtightness against moisture and water intrusion (the second marking number)

Number Protection Range Description

0 No protection No special protection against water and humidity

1 Prevent the intrusion of water droplets Vertically falling water droplets (such as condensed water) will not cause damage to the appliance

2 When tilted at 15 degrees, it can still prevent water droplets from entering. When the appliance is tilted from vertical to 15 degrees, the dripping will not cause damage to the appliance

3 Prevent the intrusion of sprayed water. Prevent rain or prevent the water sprayed in the direction with an angle of less than 60 degrees from the vertical from entering the appliance and causing damage

4 Prevent splashing water from intruding to prevent splashing water from all directions from entering the appliance and causing damage

5 Prevent the intrusion of sprayed water. Prevent water from the nozzles from all directions from entering the appliance and causing damage. 10KPA

6 Prevent large waves from invading Electrical appliances installed on the deck can prevent damage caused by large waves 100KPA

7 Prevent the intrusion of water during immersion The electrical appliances are immersed in the water for a certain period of time or the water pressure is below a certain standard, which can ensure that no damage is caused by water intrusion

8 Prevent the intrusion of water during sinking. The appliance is sunk indefinitely under the specified water pressure to ensure that no damage is caused by water intrusion.
